You have a 2 wire HEI, with an external coil, or internal?Īre you using timing control from the EFI? If the Fitech is shutting off fuel because it receives no Tach Signal, I would say NO. Maybe disconnect the coil wire going to the tach and see what happens. Hmmmmm? Better check your wiring from the coil to the tach. If your tach read before and not now, a short on that wire would shut you down, but the car would not start then run, it would never start. Quick question - have I been dumping fuel and washing out my cylinders during all this prime, crank, start, stall sequence?Īs long as the wire from the Negative coil post is connected and the Fitech Unit it should read RPM. Maybe disconnect the tach and see what happens. I assume and hope it is one of these ignition items because my hood tach isn't registering a signal when the engine cranks.Īs long as the wire from the Negative coil post is connected and the Fitech Unit it should read RPM. I will do research on testing these 2 items before condemning the FiTech. My Dave's Small Body HEI consists of a points distributor converted to HEI via Ignition Control Module Napa TP-45 and an MSD 84466-1 Magnetic pick up Coil.
